It's Not You, It's Me.
Having a videographer at your wedding isn’t for everyone, and if you’ve decided to go with one we may not be a good fit. And that is OK.
In the grand scheme of things Regina, and Saskatchewan are pretty small markets, but what may lack in size is full of talented creative individuals. Finding a photographer or videographer that you trust to capture your big day is a tough process.
In this blog post, I’m going to focus on five reasons we may not be a good fit;
1.
I am a solo shooter. While I do offer the option to bring on second shooters, I like keeping the day simple and blend in. You’re already going to have several cameras pointed in your direction all day. This means that there are a few parts of the day the need a little extra time, especially the prep portion.

My shooting style is more of a fly on the wall, however, I bring my true self with me to a wedding and it can be a bit quirky.

I don’t have the latest gimbal of fancy slider. I keep my equipment small and mobile so it can be ready in an instant. I shoot in manual focus all day. Not every shot in your film will be perfect, but the film will be perfect because I capture ever shot.
4.
You are not an actor and this is not Hollywood. Sure, yes there will be some coaching during the portrait session, but I will not be directing you throughout the day. I strive to make story-driven personal films. Your day will unfold as you’d like it.
5.
Budget. Yes, it is the elephant in the room. Wedding films are expensive and are a luxury. You can’t hang them all on the wall and it feels like there is nothing tangible. They’re often the last addition to your wedding if any budget remains. They also give a voice to your memories, you’ll never be this young again - by capturing your wedding on video you’re sharing this moment with future generations.
